Smart Length process your phones linear motion data in order to convert it to specific readable measurements either in centimetres and meters or inches and feet giving you the possibility to measure any object with a very acceptable error.
The measurement range is starting from 1 centimetre up to 2 meters; Theoretically there is no limit, but in average, is the longest consistent movement that a human being can correctly do without stopping or losing velocity in a straight line, which is a requisite for the application in order to get legitimate and representative data. Of course, if you can maintain the consistency at higher distances, great! it will work, making it the perfect solution for relatively short distances that can not be estimated with GPS due to its high error at little longitudes, compared with the acceptable 10% of Smart Legth, with its proper use.

Due to the iPod & iPad few hardware differences in motion sensors and size (iPad), Smart Length is only available for iPhone devices. This is intended in order avoid a bad user experience for iPod & iPad users due to the highly inaccurate results as a consequence of the different hardware data that should not be used on this specific application.

The first warning sign is the presentation of a video tutorial after which the app is still a bit of an enigma. I expected some form of visual crosshairs to assist on alignment and more precise measurements. Instead Im attempting to use the edge of my device to try and measure and its not that accurate.
I used this app to measure my table size its given me 100% genuine size now I have ruler in my pocket Love it thanks
After watching the tutorial several times, I decided that I was using the app correctly, but that it still didnt measure accurately. Usually, no matter how slow or fast I moved, it registered .1, .2, or .7 inches, even if I had traversed a foot or more. It was a waste of time, and my 99¢.
By "rapid," I have to almost slam my phone against the end to get a reading. Also, the need to press the start button whilst "measuring" makes it difficult to glide my phone in a consistent straight line/speed.
